Dr. Kimberly F. Sellers a distinguished statistician renowned for her expertise in count data analysis and statistical dispersion. She currently serves as the head of the Department of Statistics at the North Carolina State University (NC State).
Dr. Sellers achieved both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. She then earned her Ph.D. in Statistics from George Washington University in 2001. Before joinning NC State, Dr. Sellers held a faculty position at the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University. She took on a role as a principal researcher at the U.S. Census Bureau for Statistical Research and Methodology in 2015. In recognition of her contributions to the field, Dr. Sellers was elected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 2021 and became an elected member of the International Statistical Institute in 2018.
